My mom took my books to an October Fair today and sold nineteen copies. Way to go and thanks a bazillion (as one of our good friends would say) Mom!

With the help of my wife and mom, we made up some promotional materials for the fair and ordered a new shipment of books. We are now ready to hit some of the local stores and see what happens. The goal at this point still is not to make money but to break even and to be read. The hope is that one day one of my books is read by somebody with connections that believes it can be a success. It only takes one person and the more copies out there in the world, the more chances I have of it falling into the right hands.

My writing break is lasting a little longer than I had planned. I have been writing a few songs and rereading the three books I have started. Last month was a very busy month at school and at my second job without much leisure time. I am trying to think of a way I can write away from the camper. For some reason, it is hard for me to write when I am not sitting at my kitchen table in the camper with the lake and the woods outside of my window. I realize though how much this limits my ability to work. I wrote my first book on yellow legal pads and am mulling over the idea of going back to this method when not at the campground. I decided I am not going to put any pressure on myself. I started writing because I love to do it - if I make it feel like work or start worrying about it - then it won't be fun anymore.
